Meet Jason Russell, our "Fabricator." Jason plays a very pivotal role here at A.E.D., he keeps our machines and equipment up and running to make sure we can live up to our slogan “The World’s Fastest Metals Distributor”.
Jason started with A.E.D. over 14 years ago, originally only working during the winters to help out during busy season. Prior to A.E.D., Jason spent several years with different manufacturing and fabricating companies, that made products ranging from small parts to structural and heavy equipment fabrication. Jason also spent 5 years working highway construction doing various duties but he mainly worked the concrete saw.
The winter layoff season for construction is what led Jason to work at A.E.D. After 2 seasons helping in our shop, a full-time position opened up for him. Now, Jason is in charge of all of A.E.D.'s maintenance and keeps our machines operating efficiently. He is also in charge of Roll Forming our High Performance Streamline and Oval tubes. Jason has spent many hours perfecting the roll form process since we acquired the tooling 5 years ago. At that time, we were only able to produce a maximum length of 12' of material. Jason has since made adjustments to the machines and built special guides that allows us to roll up full lengths of steel, aluminum, stainless or titanium tubing that only needs small adjustments, if any at all, in straightness. Under Jason’s lead, we have been able to improve the roll form process as well as the quality of Streamline and Oval Tubing.
Outside of A.E.D., you can most likely find Jason in a garage working on hot rods, motors and other projects for himself, as well as his friends and family. Jason states, "I like to build my own stuff and I enjoy welding and fabricating custom pieces you cannot find anywhere else." When he's not working on a fab project, Jason spends his time hanging out with his son. They enjoy going to concerts, cars shows and the drag strip together.
