Who is this Fragola Performance Systems, anyway?!!

Fragola Performance Systems is a sister company to FK Rod Ends & Bearings, a US manufacturer of high quality and reasonably priced industrial and race bearing products for over 20 years. AED Motorsport Products has been selling FK Rod Ends since our earliest days in the mid 1990’s.

Several years ago, it was determined that the demand for quality race plumbing products far exceeded the supply, especially when many of the most popular products seemed to be perpetually on backorder. Well, we all know how fast racers and builders need to get these products, and, as they say, time is of the essence.

Enter Fragola Performance Systems (FPS) to improve some of the manufacturing deficiencies and availability shortages. While they do not manufacture every catalog part made by the other guys, the selection is quite extensive, with large supplies of the fastest-moving parts. There are over 1000 parts in the catalog now, and with another 300 new ones added every year.

One of the main reasons that FPS parts are better than their more known counterparts is because their bent-tube hose ends are made in one piece. Most of the others use a “dip-brazing” process to attach the tiny nipples to the bent tube. This raises the inherent possibility of a leakage failure, plus the braze and flux do not anodize well, nor do they look all that great. This one-piece process also creates a less restrictive flow, and therefore superior performance. Faster is better, we’re sure you’d agree!

The A-N adapters correspond with the same nomenclature developed by the US Army and US Navy back in the late 1940’s, hence the designation “A-N.” Note the series are 816, 822, etc. and these numbers are incorporated into the part numbers.
ex: FPS’ p/n 482206 is a -6 “822” 90° aluminum adapter with ¼ MPT.

Fragola’s fittings and adapters are made from aerospace quality aluminum (6061 and 2024) and machined to “Mil Spec” tolerances. Additionally, the adapters have the Class-3 “J-thread” as called out in the A-N spec.

Supply and demand are critical requirements of the motorsports industry. No-one knows this better than Fragola and AED. Parts are manufactured and placed into inventory before they are released as an available item. Backorders are not an acceptable option. About 95% of the items in the Fragola catalog are on the shelf at the factory. With more than 1000 parts available, AED does not stock everything Fragola makes, but we order from the factory on a regular basis, and we can drop-ship parts if you’re in a mad rush!

What about using Fragola parts with the “other guys’?”
Fragola hose and fittings are designed to be used together for maximum performance. While you may be able to mix and match fittings of hose and fittings throughout the industry, we make no performance assurance should you choose to use another brand of product with Fragola.

There is a substantial cross-reference table for the fittings, located on the AED web site, to match up Fragola parts with those made by the other suppliers. Fragola may not be able to cross-reference every part made by the others, but you should be able to get the most common ones at a superior quality and an even better price!
